Learning Experience

You know there's something to be learned
From everything that happens in your life;
The trick is always
Figuring out
What the lesson plan is.
I pride myself on being so smart
But sometimes I
Miss out on the really obvious things.
Last night I saw a movie
Where at the end the main character said
"No regrets,"
And I had to laugh
Because I'd just figured that one out last week.
It only took me
Six years or so,
But hey, I got there eventually.
And once I figured it out I was rewarded
With a dream of a painful subject
That didn't hurt anymore.

I hope you saw that movie, and
I hope you thought of me.
You were certainly on my mind.

Thank you.
Goodbye.
No regrets.
